What is a one rep max?

Your one rep max is the heaviest weight you can lift for a single clean rep of an exercise. Lifters use it to measure strength and to set training loads.

How is the one rep max calculated?

This calculator uses the Epley formula. It takes the weight and reps from a set you have already done and estimates the load you could lift for a single rep.

How accurate is a one rep max estimate?

Estimates are most reliable when the set was between two and ten reps taken close to failure. Above ten reps the number becomes less precise.
