How to do the Standing One-Leg Calf Raise

  1. 1Stand on the edge of a step or staircase with one foot, letting your heel hang off the edge.
  2. 2Hold onto a railing or wall for balance if needed.
  3. 3Raise your heel as high as possible, contracting your calf muscle.
  4. 4Lower your heel back down below the level of the step to stretch the calf.
  5. 5Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, then switch to the other leg.
